What we Do

Ebyan Change Agent Programme: Supporting girls to have influence in their communities is critical to their empowerment and promoting gender equality. We provide advanced training in leadership and advocacy for select graduates of our year-long programme so that they can push for changes that they want to see.

Communication, advocacy and Media Campaign to End Harmful traditional practices – focus on innovation using technology and applicable innovative interventions including Social media coverage will be carried out through Twitter, Facebook and Instagram,  ‘Using Open Cinema to Reach Pastoralist and Nomadic Communities’ documentary film will be screened at night gatherings organized using a big screen, followed by film-based discussions and public reflections and Performing Arts (Such as traditional music,  new music and theatre performance) Engaging prominent somali singers to enlighten and inform the public on the social and health impacts of harmful traditional practices and to advocate a total abandonment of this long rooted harmful practice.

Emergencies, we build communities’ resilience and support children’s right to dignity and

protection before, during and after disasters and conflicts.

-Building a women-led community climate movement, to empower women to become climate movement leaders and promote sustainable climate solutions. Working with vulnerable communities, it is emphasizing low-cost environmentally appropriate technologies, advocacy and leadership.

– Transforming Power Structures: We work in deep partnership with girls and their allies to hold power-keepers to account. We accompany girls as they work to transform imperialist and patriarchal systems of oppression, showing up and holding space as adult allies in the service of girls’ own goals and strategies.
